Find A Family To Support

Please use the link(s) below to find a military family that needs immediate financial assistance  Please feel free to contact them directly and help them as you see fit.  However if you wish to have your gift be a deductible contribution you can donate to our Foundation.  If you like you may request we assist the assigned number of the family you wish to help and we will make the donation to them on your behalf.

Ohio National Guard- Family Readiness & Warrior Support -  We work routinly and closely with the ONG Family Assistance providers to find Central Ohio military members, or recently discharged veterans.  The ONG determines the short-term need of the family needing assistance and works with us and other veteran's orgainzations to provide temporary assistance.  Here is a link to our personal representative, Syreeta Long, who coordinates funding of our recepients needs:  Angela Dryer < This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. New Beginnings Military Families - We have communicated with the site's website director who assures us he has vetted all those that request help to be sure they in fact have a military association.   However please note that The Callen Foundation assumes no liability for any person that request help from the linked site is a true military family.  Prior to our sending anyone funds we also ask them to send us some sort of proof of their military link.  This is all we can do to try to prevent fraud. Here is the link to the site:

Family Of Deceased Navy Seal - Carson Vaughn - Elite US Navy SEAL member Aaron Carson Vaughn was killed August 6, 2011 (Aug 5 US EST time) when a Chinook helicopter was shot down in Afghanistan, killing 38, including 22 SEALs.Special Warfare Operator (SEAL) Chief Petty Officer Aaron Vaughn was a highly decorated combat veteran with numerous awards including the Joint Service Achievement Medal with Valor, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with Valor, Combat Action Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism (Service) Medal, Global War on Terrorism (Expeditionary) Medal and numerous other personal and unit decoration.  He was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart and the Defense Meritorious Service Medal. Chief Petty Officer Vaughn is survived by his loving wife Kimberly, 2 year old son, Reagan, 4 month old daughter, Chamberlyn, his parents Billy and Karen, his sisters Tara and Ana, and numerous other family, friends, and teammates. Major General Bartman - Adjutant General Of The Entire Ohio National Guard, With Major General Harris, Commander Of The Army Ohio National Guard presented Lynn and I, on behalf of The Callen Foundation, their annual Adjutant General award at the Embassy Suites in Dublin. Quite an honor. Who would ever thought a US Army Specialist 4 would be on the same platform with three generals (including two, two star Major Generals).  This award also belongs to our Board without them we would not have gotten this far.
